Product Description
Sedimentation Granulometer/Sedimentometer
The TZC series particle measuring instrument consists of a high-precision electronic settling balance, computer, and particle size data processing software. When settling measured liquid particles fall onto the balance plate, the LCD screen displays the mass value while simultaneously transmitting the signal to the computer. The granularity data processing software acquires the mass signal in real-time and displays it on the computer screen. After settlement, curves can be stored and recalled at any time, with calculation results presented in tables and graphs for printing.
This sedimentometer is widely used to determine particle size and distribution in industries including latex, pigment, abrasive synthetic resin, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, glass, powder metallurgy, cement, plastics, refractory materials, coatings, petroleum, and coal. It is an essential instrument for scientific and technical personnel engaged in particle size research and testing.

Testing Principle
According to Stokes' theorem, particle grading occurs during dust particle settling, where the viscosity of static settling liquid affects settling particles through friction resistance, as calculated by the formula:
R = 9η / [2g(γk - γt)]·√(H/t)
Where:
R = particle radius (cm)
η = subsidence fluid viscosity (g/cm·s)
γk = particle specific gravity (g/cm³)
γt = specific gravity of settling fluid (g/cm³)
H = settlement height (cm)
t = settling time (s)
g = acceleration of gravity (980 cm/s²)
By measuring the time (t) required for particles to settle to height (H), the settlement velocity (V) and particle radius (r) can be calculated. This theory forms the basis of the sedimentation analysis method for determining particle distribution.
