I.Product Characteristics

The production process characteristics of the glass edge grinding wastewater treatment equipment determine that the water quality of the production wastewater is balanced, and the water volume shows little fluctuation. When the wastewater is recycled, it has high suspended solids and high chromaticity.

II.Wastewater Source
IWastewater is generated from processes such as cutting, edging, and edging washing in glass product manufacturing.

III.Wastewater Characteristics

Primary pollutants: Glass powder (silica powder) produced during cutting and edging.
No organic matter, inorganic salts, or other ionic substances are added in the wastewater-generating process, and no ionic pollutants are produced during production.
Due to the characteristics of the production process, wastewater discharge is balanced, with minimal fluctuations in water quality and volume.
When recycled, the wastewater has a high suspended solids (SS) content of ≥500 mg/L, a chromaticity of 200–400 times, and a pH of approximately 7–8.

VII.Process Description

Wastewater is collected via open channels and enters a regulation tank, which balances water volume and quality.
The regulation tank is equipped with pre-aeration mixing, and aeration pipes at the bottom prevent glass powder from settling.
Two lift pumps transfer the wastewater from the regulation tank to a reaction tank, where PAC (polyaluminum chloride) and NaOH are dosed.
Formed flocs are separated in an SS dual-selection integrated machine:
- Large, easily settleable suspended solids rapidly settle to the bottom hopper.
- Fine, hard-to-settle suspended solids are lifted to the water surface by microbubbles and discharged into the sludge tank.
The clear water compartment (middle section) discharges effluent into a gravity sand filter for security filtration, ensuring water safety.
Treated water from the sand filter flows to a reclaimed water tank for reuse in edging and edging washing machines.
Sludge from both sections of the SS dual-selection machine is discharged to a sludge thickening tank, dewatered by a plate-and-frame filter press, and bagged for off-site disposal.
