The combination of this reduced pressure and gentle heating from the bath causes the solvent to boil and vaporize at a temperature significantly below its normal boiling point. This low-temperature evaporation is crucial for preserving heat-labile compounds. The solvent vapor then rises and enters the condenser. Here, a coolant circulates, chilling the vapor and causing it to liquefy.
