Optional accessory: Water bath cover
The condenser serves as the reclaiming unit in the rotary evaporation system. After the solvent vaporizes under low pressure, it must be efficiently recovered. The condenser provides a cold surface, typically through an internal coil or jacket filled with circulating coolant (like water or antifreeze). As the warm vapor comes into contact with this chilled surface, it loses thermal energy, undergoes a phase change, and condenses back into a liquid. This step is vital for two main reasons: it allows for the collection and potential reuse of the solvent, and it maintains the vacuum integrity by preventing vapor from reaching the vacuum pump, which could damage it. Efficient condensation ensures both operational effectiveness and system protection.
