Introduction about water bath

Safe operation of a water bath is paramount. Always use distilled or deionized water to prevent mineral scale buildup on heaters and sensors. To inhibit microbial growth, which can contaminate samples, regular cleaning and the use of lab-safe disinfectants in the water are mandatory.

When heating volatile or flammable liquids, the bath must be operated inside a fume hood to dissipate harmful fumes. It is critical never to exceed the flash point of any substance placed in the bath. Additionally, moisture-sensitive or pyrophoric materials must be kept away from this humid environment to prevent dangerous reactions.
