Keeping a drying oven clean is vital for preventing cross-contamination and maintaining performance. After cooling completely, the interior stainless steel surfaces should be wiped with a mild detergent and water, then rinsed and dried. Avoid abrasive pads or harsh chlorine-based cleaners that can damage steel.
For polymer or resin spills that have baked on, a specialized oven cleaner may be needed, followed by thorough rinsing to remove any residue that could off-gas later. If the oven was used for biohazardous materials, appropriate decontamination (e.g., with a suitable disinfectant) must precede cleaning. Regular cleaning of the air intake and exhaust vents also ensures proper airflow and safety.
