Yokohama Type Floating Pneumatic Rubber Fenders Comply With ISO 17357
Floating pneumatic rubber fenders, also known as Yokohama fenders or Yokohama-type pneumatic fenders, are constructed from synthetic-cord-reinforced rubber sheets with compressed air inside. The internal air enables flotation on water while absorbing shock between vessels (ship-to-ship) or between ships and berthing structures. All Doowin Marine Yokohama type floating pneumatic rubber fenders are manufactured and tested to fully comply with ISO 17357 standards.
Available in diameters from 500 mm to 4,500 mm and lengths from 500 mm to 9,000 mm, our pneumatic fenders come as sling-type or with heavy-duty chain & tire net configurations. We also supply vertical hydropneumatic fenders for submarines and foam-filled floating fenders.
Pneumatic Rubber Fenders Construction
Outer Rubber
The outer rubber layer protects cord layers and inner rubber from abrasion and external forces. This specially formulated rubber compound offers superior tensile and tear resistance to withstand harsh weather conditions and demanding usage.
Tire Cord Layers
Reinforcement synthetic-tire-cord layers maintain the fender's structural integrity under internal air pressure.
Inner Rubber
The inner rubber layer forms an airtight seal to contain the pressurized air within the fender.
Fender Pressure Rating
Our Pneumatic Rubber Fenders are available in two initial pressure ratings:
- Pneumatic 50 (P50) - Initial internal pressure 50kPa
- Pneumatic 80 (P80) - Initial internal pressure 80kPa
Pneumatic Fender Types
We offer two common configurations:
- Type I - Net Type: Covered with chain net, wire net, or fiber net (ideal for smaller fenders)
- Type II - Sling Type: Features lifting devices on each end for connection with guy chains or ropes (lightweight and easy to handle without protection net)
