Weld concentric reducers are conical-shaped fittings that gradually narrow to a smaller diameter at one end, creating a smooth transition. They are typically employed in vertical flow systems or, when oriented horizontally, function as increasers. However, their use in horizontal configurations is discouraged due to the risk of pooling. For such applications, eccentric reducers, designed with a flat side, are preferred to avoid fluid buildup. Unlike end cap reducers, concentric reducers reduce agitation, promoting steadier flow. Their structure makes them particularly suitable for vertical installations, ensuring efficient and dependable performance in fluid-handling systems.
