Product Description

Product Overview

The Yaskawa SGM7J-04AFC6E is a 400 W Sigma-7 medium-inertia rotary servo motor equipped with a 24 VDC holding brake and an oil seal. It is intended for positioning axes that require the load to remain mechanically held after servo power is removed.

The motor provides 1.27 Nm rated torque at 3000 RPM and can produce an instantaneous maximum torque of 4.46 Nm. Its 24-bit incremental serial encoder supports high-resolution closed-loop control in a compatible Sigma-7 servo system.

Main Features

  • 400 W rated output and 200 VAC-class motor design.
  • Medium-inertia rotor for responsive and stable motion control.
  • 24-bit incremental serial encoder.
  • Integrated 24 VDC holding brake.
  • Oil seal for applications requiring additional shaft-side protection.
  • Straight shaft with key and threaded center hole.
  • Rated speed of 3000 RPM and maximum speed of 6000 RPM.
  • Compact flange-mounted construction for industrial machinery.

Compatible System and Applications

This motor is commonly used with an appropriately configured Sigma-7 SERVOPACK in vertical axes, lifting mechanisms and other systems where the load must be held when servo torque is removed. Typical applications include packaging machinery, electronics equipment, pick-and-place systems, compact robotic axes, machine tools and automated assembly equipment.

The holding brake is intended to hold a stationary load. It must not be used as the normal method for decelerating or repeatedly stopping the moving motor.

Maintenance and Replacement Notes

Verify the complete SGM7J-04AFC6E suffix, including the C design designation and final 6E mechanical configuration. Confirm the incremental encoder, 24 VDC brake circuit, brake release timing, oil seal, shaft dimensions, keyway and connector arrangement.

Check the SERVOPACK model, motor and encoder cables, brake power supply, surge-suppression circuit, controller project, firmware and parameter file. The brake must be released before motion commands are applied. Oil-seal configurations may also require output derating according to operating temperature and installation conditions.

Related Models

Related models include SGM7J-04AFA61 without a brake or oil seal, SGM7J-04AFA6C with a holding brake, SGM7J-04AFA6E with a brake and oil seal and SGM7J-04A7D61 with an absolute encoder. Regional and design-revision characters must be checked independently.

Inquiry and Supply Notes

Please provide photographs of the complete nameplate, shaft, connectors and brake wiring together with the installed SERVOPACK model. Availability, condition, brake connector and included accessories must be verified for the specific offer.
