Product Description
The Allen Bradley 1746-HSCE High Speed Counter Module is compatible with the SLC 500 family, excluding the 1747-ASB Remote I/O Adapter Module. This high-performance module works with SLC 5/02 processors and above, featuring bidirectional counting capability for detecting movement in either direction. With x2 and x4 counting modes, it fully utilizes high-resolution quadrature encoders and supports input pulse frequencies up to 50 kHz for precise fast motion control.
Beyond the Accumulated Counter, the module includes a Rate Counter for frequency measurement in Hz. Rate Measurement accumulates input pulses over a configurable period ranging from 10 ms to 2.55 seconds, supporting input rates up to 32,767 Hz. Background rate calculation is available in Sequencer and Range Modes. The module's four current sink outputs can be controlled via user programming or module logic, with counter reset configurable through Z input, Limit Switch input, or Soft Reset control bits.
