Allen Bradley 1761-NET-DNI DeviceNet Interface
The DeviceNet Interface (DNI) is a standalone, intelligent protocol-conversion device designed for DeviceNet-to-DF1 communication. It is suitable for DIN-rail mounting or panel installation and enables existing DF1 devices to operate on a DeviceNet network. The connected DF1 device exchanges I/O data with a DeviceNet master and supports the transmission of DF1-encapsulated DeviceNet messages across the network.
Hardware Interfaces
- DeviceNet Connection: Single DeviceNet network connection point with electrical isolation from internal logic
- RS-232 Interface: Single RS-232 connection for DF1 devices with isolation from DeviceNet circuitry
- Electrical Isolation: DeviceNet port isolated from digital logic and RS-232 port for improved noise immunity and system protection
Primary Functions
- Input Data Collection and Forwarding: Receives input data from the DF1 device via RS-232 and transfers collected data to the DeviceNet master
- Output Data Monitoring and Writing: Monitors output data received from the DeviceNet master and writes output data to the connected DF1 device
- Message Transmission Support: Enables DF1 devices to originate and receive messages, supporting DF1 message exchange across the DeviceNet network
