The IS220YDIAS1A serves as a high-density discrete sensing node within the GE Mark VIe and Mark VIeS control topologies. This I/O pack digitizes 24 channels of dry or wet contact inputs, funneling real-time field data across a dual-redundant IONet Ethernet backbone. By integrating a dedicated local processor and internal power conversion, the module eliminates the need for centralized processing of binary states, enabling a distributed architecture that minimizes field wiring. It acts as a direct-pluggable interface for various terminal boards, facilitating high-speed data acquisition in complex turbine and balance-of-plant control systems.
Precision timing is the hallmark of this module, which supports Sequence of Events (SOE) recording with a 1-millisecond resolution across all 24 points. Internally, the hardware utilizes FPGA-driven logic to handle signal debouncing and state detection, filtering out mechanical "chatter" before it reaches the controller logic.
