The IS220YDIAS1A serves as a high-density discrete sensing node within the GE Mark VIe and Mark VIeS control topologies. This I/O pack digitizes 24 channels of dry or wet contact inputs, funneling real-time field data across a dual-redundant IONet Ethernet backbone. By integrating a dedicated local processor and internal power conversion, the module eliminates the need for centralized processing of binary states, enabling a distributed architecture that minimizes field wiring. It acts as a direct-pluggable interface for various terminal boards, facilitating high-speed data acquisition in complex turbine and balance-of-plant control systems.
Precision timing is the hallmark of this module, which supports Sequence of Events (SOE) recording with a 1-millisecond resolution across all 24 points. Internally, the hardware utilizes FPGA-driven logic to handle signal debouncing and state detection, filtering out mechanical "chatter" before it reaches the controller logic. The YDIAS1A also maintains active diagnostics, continuously monitoring the health of the field excitation voltage and the connectivity of the pack-to-terminal board bridge.
