GE IC660BBA024 I/O Module
This IC660BBA024 is a 24 to 48 VDC rated Current Source I/O Block designed for the GE Genius network, commonly used with Series 90-30 and 90-70 controllers. It provides four 4-20 mA inputs and two 4-20 mA outputs, making it a standard choice for driving actuators and monitoring process transmitters.
A standout feature is that each of the four inputs supplies its own 24V loop power. This allows you to power two-wire transmitters directly from the block terminals, eliminating the need for separate field power supplies and cleaning up the cabinet wiring significantly.
Technical Specifications
The module utilizes a voltage-to-frequency (V/F) converter to digitize analog signals, which provides excellent noise rejection in electrically "dirty" industrial environments. The inputs are quite precise, offering 1 µA resolution and an accuracy of 0.1% at 25°C. You can adjust the conversion timing from 16.6ms to 400ms based on how much filtering your application needs. The two output channels provide 6 µA resolution and update every 6 to 8 ms. While the inputs are isolated to prevent ground loop problems, the two output circuits share a common electrical return.
To keep the system running during network faults, the IC660BBA024 connects directly to 24-48 VDC bus switching modules, supporting redundant Genius bus architectures. It also includes comprehensive diagnostic tools to monitor loop health and internal faults. This combination of loop excitation, fast output updates, and built-in scaling makes it a highly reliable interface for critical analog control loops.
