Allen Bradley 1794-OB8EP Digital Output Module Programming
If your program automatically checks for fault bits, bits 8 through 15 of read word 1 must be masked. This sample program demonstrates configuration for a module at rack address 1, group 0. Add similar rungs to your existing program structure.
1794-OB8EP Fault Reset Procedures
Fault conditions can be cleared using three methods:
- Press the fault reset button located on the front panel of the module
- Toggle the output reset bit (write word 1, bit 08)
- Cycle backplane power to the module
Using the 1794-OB8EP Reset Button
When pressing the reset button, the fault indicator for the affected output turns off for approximately 1.2 seconds. Following this delay, the faulted output attempts to turn on. If the external condition causing the fault has been corrected, the output will remain active, the fault indicator will stay off, and the status indicator will illuminate.
