Product Overview
Broadcom DCSG is implementing an update to its serial number format to enhance product identification and ensure uniqueness. This change involves replacing the single numerical digit currently used to denote the year of manufacture with a letter-based system. This proactive measure addresses the increasing production volumes and the potential for serial number exhaustion, particularly as the company has been manufacturing in the same location for over a decade. The updated format will apply to all Broadcom DCSG products, including boards, SuperCaps, Cables, and RAID Keys, without affecting their form, fit, or function, nor their part numbers or revisions. The change is effective starting around the week of June 8, 2020 (WW 24).
