Each channel includes a clamp diode for inductive loads like relays and stepper motors. By paralleling Darlingtons, higher output current capabilities can be achieved. Each Darlington channel has a 2.7K base resistor, allowing direct connection to TTL/CMOS circuits at a 5V operating voltage.
