XYZ Gantry System – Micro Parts Picking, Placing & Precision Positioning

 

designs and manufactures custom, modular XY and XYZ gantry systems, also called cartesian robots or gantry kits. The system shown here uses a combination of high precision motorized linear stages, a motorized rotary stage and a motorized gripper to demonstrate a possible pick and place solution. This robot provides accurate and repeatable control of 5 axes of motion (3 linear, 1 rotation, and gripper) 

This XYZ Robotic Feeding Workstation is specially designed for precision automatic picking, sorting and loading of micro parts. It is widely applied in 3C electronics, semiconductors, food packaging, pharmaceutical, hardware and plastic industries.

The system handles large volumes of randomly arranged tiny components, such as electronic connectors, precision screws, nuts, plastic parts, capsules, candies and micro stamped parts. Equipped with a vision positioning system, it realizes random material feeding, automatic identification, precise picking, and orderly boxing or inline feeding.

XYZ Gantry System - Pick and Place & Precision Handling
Consists of sets of servo linkage units and an XYZ moving platform; payload: 0.1–0.3kg; repetitive positioning accuracy: ±0.01~±0.1mm; cycle speed: 80–100 cycles per minute.
Flexible Vibratory Feeder
Evenly disperses randomly oriented small parts for visual recognition and robotic picking; compatible with mixed materials of various specifications.
Machine Vision System
Top camera for global positioning plus bottom camera for auxiliary correction; positioning accuracy up to ±0.05mm.
Control System & End Effector
Integrated vision and motion controller with EtherCAT bus protocol; optional vacuum suction cups and micro grippers.
Manual / Hopper Feeding → Material dispersion & homogenization via flexible vibratory feeder
Top camera imaging → Visual recognition of part position & posture → Coordinate transmission to Delta Robot
High-speed motion of Delta Robot → Precision picking via vacuum adsorption
(Optional) High-speed capture by bottom camera → Secondary positioning correction → Part placement onto jigs, trays or production lines
