Bamboo Formwork Introduction
Bamboo formwork is made from high-quality moso bamboo (nan bamboo) that’s 3 to 5 years old as the main or only raw material. The bamboo is mechanically split into strips, slats, and sheets, which are then woven into mats (for the surface) and curtains (for the core). After steaming (to prevent insects and mold), drying, glue soaking, symmetrical assembly, high-temperature high-pressure pressing, laminating, and trimming and sanding, it becomes a high-strength, water-resistant, wear-resistant, and reusable bamboo-based engineered board. In construction, it’s mainly used as concrete formwork, but it’s also widely used in heavy-duty structures like bridges, tunnels, container floors, and vehicle panels.
