The Classic 24 Color Test Card is a professional color management tool designed for camera color calibration, image color restoration, and visual system color consistency testing. The chart features 24 color patches covering a full range of gray levels from deep to light, along with common high-saturation colors. The reverse side is labeled with the name and number of each color patch, forming a complete color reference database.
The core working principle is based on color space conversion. After the camera captures a scene containing the color card, post-processing software calculates the color characteristics of the current camera system — including lens, sensor, and image processing algorithm — by comparing the measured color card values against standard reference values. It then generates a camera configuration file used to correct other photos taken under the same lighting conditions.
This correction covers not only white balance, but also more subtle color characteristics such as color saturation and hue shift.
Compared to traditional white balance cards, the 24 Color Test Card offers comprehensive color correction capability.
