I. Basic Structure
The sludge drying system consists of a feeding unit, a disc dryer (including steam heat source), a gas-solid separation unit (cyclone separator), a condensation unit, an exhaust fan unit, and a discharge unit. The disc dryer mainly comprises a stator (housing), a rotor (discs), and a drive mechanism. The central shaft of the rotor serves as the load-bearing component for the drying discs; it is a hollow shaft to which all discs are welded.
II. Working Principle
In the disc dryer, sludge is uniformly and slowly conveyed through the entire dryer by the action of scrapers/stirrers located at the edges of the discs, and is dried through thermal contact with the discs. During the drying process, hot steam condenses on the inner walls of the disc chambers, forming condensate water. This condensate is channeled through a pipe into a central tube and finally discharged from the dryer via an outlet chute. Scrapers are installed between every two discs and are fixed to the housing (stator). These scrapers loosen the sludge between the discs, enabling waste steam to escape quickly.
