1. Main Structure
Conical Cylindrical Body (Jacketed Vessel)
External jacket allows steam, thermal oil, or hot water to flow through, transferring heat via conduction to the vessel wall; the conical bottom design ensures complete discharge with no dead zones for material accumulation.
Eccentric Ribbon Impeller System
The ribbon impeller rotates slowly while closely contacting the inner wall of the tank, continuously scraping the wall to renew the heat transfer surface; eccentric design ensures full coverage of the conical cavity and reduces wall adhesion.
Drive and Shaft Sealing
Top-mounted motor and gearbox; main shaft equipped with packing seal or mechanical seal, suitable for high-vacuum conditions.
Vacuum and Dust Collection System
Top vacuum exhaust port with built-in dust collection filter (sintered mesh or bag filter) to prevent powder from being drawn into the vacuum pump; external connections include condenser, vacuum pump, and solvent recovery tank.
Inlet and Outlet Ports
Upper loading port and conical bottom discharge valve (butterfly valve, ball valve, or star-type discharge valve); optional nitrogen purging interface available.
II. Working Principle
After batch feeding and sealing, the chamber is evacuated to a vacuum (-0.07 to -0.098 MPa), lowering the boiling point of moisture and enabling low-temperature drying.
Heating medium—either jacketed thermal oil or steam—transfers heat through the tank wall to heat the material (without hot air or convective airflow).
An eccentric ribbon screw slowly rotates, continuously agitating the material and scraping off adhered particles from the walls, ensuring constant renewal of the heat transfer surface. Moisture and organic solvents evaporate into vapor, which is drawn out by the vacuum pump and condensed for recovery in the condenser.
Once drying is complete, the vacuum is released and the conical bottom valve fully opens for discharging the product.
III. Advantages
Vertical batch-type closed vacuum system, suitable for heat-sensitive, easily oxidized, flammable, and explosive materials; efficiently recovers organic solvents such as ethanol, and ethyl acetate.
Conical bottom with no dead zones ensures clean discharge; ideal for small-batch, multi-variety production, facilitating easy cleaning and material changeover to meet GMP requirements in fine chemicals.
Full-spiral ribbon scraper effectively prevents adhesion of filter cakes, wet powders, and loose agglomerated materials.
No significant airflow throughout the process, resulting in much lower dust generation compared to fluidized beds; fully enclosed operation prevents exhaust gas leakage.
A single unit integrates mixing → vacuum drying → discharging, offering multiple functions in one machine.
