SBS Root‑penetration Resistant Waterproof Membrane takes SBS elastomer‑modified petroleum bitumen as matrix, reinforced with polyester mat, integrated with copper‑foil core or chemical root‑resistant agent. The top side can be sand‑surfaced protective layer and the bottom side is hot‑fusible bitumen surface, mainly installed by hot‑melt method.
Developed against damage from plant root penetration, it retains regular SBS waterproof performance while preventing plant roots from piercing the waterproof layer. It serves as primary waterproof layer for roof garden and planting‑roof projects. It can be used independently or form composite waterproof system together with non‑curing rubber‑bitumen coating. 4 mm copper‑core grade is widely adopted, combining waterproofing, root‑resistance and deformation‑resistant performance.
