Product Description
Self-Aspirated Mechanical Flotation Machine for Ore Processing

The BF Flotation Machine is a self-aspirated and self-pulping mechanical flotation machine designed for mineral processing applications. Developed as an improved version of the SF flotation machine, BF uses a closed double-cone impeller to generate strong downward pulp circulation while drawing air into the impeller chamber.

The BF flotation machine combines air suction, pulp suction and flotation functions in the suction cell, allowing the flotation circuit to operate without auxiliary foam pumps. Its horizontal arrangement also provides flexibility for flotation process configuration.

Main Advantages
No. Advantages
1 Self-aspirated flotation design for air intake without an external air blower
2 Self-pulping operation with air suction and pulp suction functions
3 Closed double-cone impeller generates strong downward pulp circulation
4 High air intake with relatively low power consumption
5 Horizontal arrangement simplifies flotation circuit configuration
6 Pulp circulation helps reduce coarse sand settling
7 Pulp level can be adjusted with manual or automatic control systems
Working Principle

The motor drives the impeller through the belt transmission and main shaft. As the impeller rotates, it agitates the pulp and generates strong downward circulation, helping keep mineral particles suspended and promoting contact between mineral particles, reagents and bubbles.

The rotating impeller creates a vacuum at the center of the impeller chamber. Atmospheric air is drawn through the air suction pipe and center tube into the impeller chamber, where it mixes with the pulp.

The resulting gas-solid-liquid mixture is dispersed throughout the flotation cell, while the cover plate helps stabilize the pulp surface and disperse larger bubbles into smaller bubbles. This provides conditions for mineralization and flotation recovery.

Application

The BF mechanical flotation machine is suitable for mineral processing flotation circuits where self-aspiration and self-pulping are required.

The machine can be arranged horizontally according to the process flowsheet. A BF flotation machine system can include flotation cells together with feed boxes, middling boxes and tailings boxes. The number and total capacity of flotation machines should be determined according to flotation tests or operating experience from similar plants.

FAQ

What type of flotation machine is BF?
BF is a self-aspirated, self-pulping mechanical flotation machine. It is an improved version of the SF flotation machine.
Does the BF flotation machine require an external air blower?
The BF machine uses self-aspiration. Atmospheric air is drawn into the impeller chamber through the air suction pipe and center tube, rather than relying on an external air blower.
Does BF require a foam pump?
The manual specifies that BF is horizontally arranged and does not require a foam pump.
What capacities are available for the BF flotation machine?
The documented BF series covers cell volumes from 0.15 m³ to 24 m³, with production capacities from 0.06 to 24 m³/min, depending on the model.
How is the BF flotation machine configured?
The flotation machine can be arranged according to the process flowsheet. The system may include flotation cells, feed boxes, middling boxes and tailings boxes. Special configuration requirements can be specified when ordering.
