Because air is supplied from an external blower rather than the impeller, aeration can be controlled independently of rotor speed — giving operators a separate handle on flotation intensity at large scale.

Working Principle

Pulp is agitated by a rotor while air is introduced from an external supply and dispersed into fine bubbles. Mineral particles attach to the bubbles and rise as mineralized froth, which is recovered by the launder.
