Polyurethane Impeller: Drop-In Spare for BF Flotation Machines

The impeller is the one part every BF flotation machine will eventually need. This polyurethane impeller is moulded to the BF-8.0 profile for a bolt-for-bolt fit, so you can swap it out in a normal maintenance window and be back on line the same shift.

Confirm this is your machine

• Machine: BF-8.0 self-aspirating flotation machine (8 m³ cell).
• Position: main impeller on the shaft, below the cover plate.
• Tip: the BF-8.0 uses the double truncated-cone impeller — check your manual before ordering.

Impeller replacement in five steps

1. Isolate the machine and drain the cell; lock out the drive.
2. Remove the V-belt guard, then slacken the drive belts.
3. Unbolt the cover plate to expose the impeller and shaft nut.
4. Undo the shaft nut, withdraw the worn impeller and clean the taper.
5. Fit the new polyurethane impeller, torque the nut to spec, re-tension belts and run a no-load check.
