S45500 Martensitic Age-hardenable Stainless Steel Per AMS 5617 Alloy 455
S45500 is a martensitic, age-hardenable stainless steel. This alloy represents a significant advancement in the area of preciptiation hardening stainless steels. S45500 has three times the yield strength of standard 304. It lends itself well to heat treatment and fabrication, has exceptionally high yield strength, good ductility and toughness. S45500 resists staining in normal atmospheres and shows no corrosion in fresh water.
