UNS S46500 is a martenite precipitation-hardened stainless steel, this steel type has extremely high strength, excellent toughness and corrosion resistance.
UNS S46500 stainless is a premium melted, martensitic, age-hardenable alloy capable of ultimate tensile strength in excess of 250 ksi in the overaged (H 950) condition. This alloy was designed to have excellent notch tensile strength and fracture toughness in this condition.
UNS S46500 has been widely used in the medical device industry, because of its extremely excellent strength and toughness, allowing the device to withstand great torque during surgery. The unique performance of Custom465 stainless steel makes it possible to design smaller sizes and cross-sectional devices for minimally invasive surgery.
