IEC60068-2-31 Repeated Free Fall 500mm /1000mm Rotating Barrel for Mechanical Strength Test
1. Introduction
The rotating barrel also called as tumbling barrel is designed according to IEC60068-2-31clause 5.3/figure A.1, IEC60598-1 clause 4.13.5, IEC60884-1 clause 24.2 for repeat free fall test. The test is to check the mechanical strength of the electrical appliance like plugs and socket-outlets, the sample shall be placed in the tumbling barrel and subjected to prescribed number of falls.
