Contact Depth Gauges
1. Introduction
The contact depth gauges are designed according to AS/NZS3112 figure 3.1 (d) (e) (f) and clause 3.3.4 for depth of contact test for socket apertures for flat pins and round pins. Gauges as per figure 3.1 (d) and (e) are used for depth of contact test for 10A&15A and 20A flat socket-outlets. And gauge as per figure 3.1 (f) is used for depth of contact test for round socket-outlets.
When the test gauge is inserted perpendicular to the socket-outlet face, into each and every contact aperture, contact shall be made before the gauge is fully inserted.
