Appliance Couplers Lateral Pull Test Apparatus
The appliance couplers lateral pull test apparatus is designed to meet the test requirements of IEC60320-1 clause 23.3 and figure 8 to verify if the contact of connectors and appliance outlets have sufficient mechanical strength.
A lateral pull force in parallel with the engagement face is applied to the cable of the connector/plug connector in four directions in steps of 90°±5°. A pull force is applied 50 times in each direction to the cord for 1s ±0.5s. After the test, the connector/appliance outlet shall show no damage.
