Compliant with ISO 6722-1 and ISO 19642-2 standards
Introduction
The sandpaper abrasion test apparatus is designed according to ISO 6722-1 clause 5.12.4.1 figure 6 and ISO 19642-2 clause 5.3.2.4 figure 3, as well as GB/T25085, QC/T730, JASO D608, JASO D611, SAE J1127, SAE J1128 and JIS C3406 standards. This test verifies the resistance of cable insulation to sandpaper abrasion.
The test measures resistance to abrasion using sandpaper tape with 5mm to 10mm conductive strips spaced every 75mm maximum. A force of (0.63±0.05)N is applied to the test sample through the bracket, support rod and pivoting arm combination. The sample is mounted taut without stretching, and the sandpaper tape is drawn under it at (1500±75)mm/min while recording the length needed to expose the conductor. The test is repeated four times with sample rotation between tests to determine mean abrasion resistance.
