Abrasion Test Apparatus for Testing the Mechanical Strength of Current-Carrying Hose as Per IEC60335-2-2
Introduction
This test apparatus is designed according to IEC60335-2-2 clause 21.102 figure 101 and IEC60335-2-24 clause 21.102 and figure 101. It is used to test the abrasion resistance of current-carrying hoses in vacuum cleaners. The apparatus operates by attaching one end of the hose to the connecting rod of a crank mechanism that rotates at 30r/min, causing the hose end to move horizontally over a 300mm distance. The hose is supported by a rotating smooth roller with an abrasive cloth belt moving at 0.1m/min. A 1kg mass is suspended from the other end of the hose, which is guided to rotate. The test continues for 100 crank revolutions.
