ASTM D1882 Analyzer for Effect of Cooling System Chemical Solutions on Organic Finishes for Automotive Vehicles
Introduction
The instrument operates on the principle of exposing chemical concentrate solutions or their dilutions from the cooling system to specific organic coatings used in automobile production for 1 hour at a certain temperature. Then, the surface of the coating is visually inspected for any discoloration, loss of luster, softening, swelling, or other peculiar phenomena.
This instrument is suitable for testing chemical solutions in the cooling system, including coolants, summer rust inhibitors, cooling system cleaners, flush agents, and stop-leak additives.
