Measuring Principle
 
This instrument adopts both magnetic and eddy current thickness methods
 
a) Magnetic method (F Probe)
Measuring Non-magnetic coatings on magnetic substrates (such as aluminum,chromium, copper, rubber coatings on steel, iron, alloy and hard magnetic steel substrates).
 
b) Eddy current method (N Probe)
Measuring Non-conductive coatings on Non-magnetic basis metals (such as enamel, plastic, rubber, paint coatings on copper, aluminum, zinc, tin substrates).

 

 

Calibration on Sandblast Surface
 
Sandblast the surface characteristics of led to the measured value deviates from the true value greatly, the coating thickness is roughly can use the following method to determine.
 
Method 1:
a) Instrument to use the method of 3.3.1 or 3.3.2.1 in radius of curvature and base material of the same smooth surface calibration.
b) Without plating in through the surface of the same treatment of measurement about 10 times, get the average Mo.
c) In the coating on the surface of measuring 10 times average Mm.
d) (Mm—Mo)±S is the coating thickness. S(standard deviation) is the bigger one between SMm and SMo.
 
Method 2:
a) Measured with the single mode under the directly way.
b) Use two specimens method to calibrate the instrument.
c) Measured 5 to 10 times on the standard piece.Press“STATS”,Statistical average value of the cladding thickness is.
