The composition and processing of these steels are specially designed to ensure a significant increase in yield strength during low temperature heat treatment, especially during paint baking. Thanks to this, VAMA bake hardening steels are able to achieve higher strengths while maintaining good forming results. By using the "bake hardening" (BH) process, the yield strength can usually be increased by more than 35Mpa.
Thanks to the bake hardening effect, VAMA steels have two major advantages over conventional drawn steels:
> Improved dent resistance under low forming strain conditions for all finished parts (e.g. hood, roof, doors and flanks);
> Significant reduction in material weight at the same dent resistance (although the thickness is reduced, the yield strength of the tower during Heat treatment can be compensated)
This steel grade provides good formability and dent resistance, which can greatly reduce the weight of the vehicle and improve the aesthetics of the vehicle body.
Application: Bake hardened steel is used for exterior panels (eg doors, hoods, tailgates, front wings, roofs) and structural components (eg underbody panels, reinforcements, crossmembers, linings).

The 195 BH steel grade complies with Japanese standards and is specially designed for the production of galvanized alloy parts.
