Langasite (LGS) crystal is a multifunctional piezoelectric material that combines electro-optical effects with optical rotation properties. This advanced crystal serves as an excellent substrate for both bulk acoustic wave (BAW) and surface acoustic wave (SAW) applications in filters, resonators, and oscillators.
Key Technical Advantages
LGS crystals feature an electromechanical coupling coefficient that bridges the performance gap between quartz crystals and lithium tantalate. This enables the realization of filters with relative pass bands from 0.3% to 0.85% and resonators with resonance spacing of 0.8% for advanced frequency-controlled oscillators.
