Introduction of Molecular Distillation/Short Path Distillation
Molecular Distillation/Short Path Distillation is a comparatively new separation technology. It can separate liquid-liquid mixture under temperature that is far lower than boiling point by the difference of mean free path of molecules under high vacuum condition. Such separation is difficult or unable to achieve on normal distillation equipments. 1. Based on the mixture's each materials' different molecular motion mean free path. According to the principle of molecular motion mean free path, under ideal condition making the liquid mixture flowing through the heating plate to heat, light and heavy molecules will escape from liquid level, and enter into the gas phase.
2. Due to the light and heavy molecular free path is different, so after different material molecules escape from the liquid surface, their moving distance is different, if properly set up a cold condenser plate, then light molecules reach condensation plate be condensing exhaust, and heavy molecules can not reach condensation plate, the exhaust along with the mixture liquid.
