Product Description

Niobium is a gray white metal with a melting point of 2468 * C, a boiling point of 4742 * C and a density of 8.57g/cm3. Niobium is stable in air at room temperature, and is not completely oxidized when it is red hot in oxygen. It can be directly combined with sulfur, nitrogen and carbon at high temperature, and can form alloys with titanium, zirconium, hafnium and tungsten. It does not react with inorganic acids or bases, and is insoluble in aqua regia, but soluble in hydrofluoric acid.

Features

Metallic niobium can be prepared by electrolytic molten potassium heptafluoroniobate, or reduced by sodium metal or aluminum metal_ Niobium preparation. Pure niobium is used to remove residual gas in electronic tubes. Doping niobium in steel can improve the oxidation resistance of steel at high temperatures and improve the welding performance of steel. Niobium is also used to make high-temperature cermets.
