Molybdenum sheets are made from pressed and sintered molybdenum slabs through a rolling process. Usually, molybdenum sheet is called molybdenum plate in thicknesses of 2-30 mm, molybdenum flake in thicknesses of 0.2-2 mm, and molybdenum foil in thicknesses below 0.2 mm. Molybdenum sheets of different thicknesses are manufactured in different types of rolling mills. The thinner molybdenum sheets and foils with better curl properties can be manufactured in a continuous rolling mill with tension and supplied in coils, called molybdenum strip.
