400 500 600 700 Graphite Electrode Torque Wrench Handling Guide
Handling Guide
- Product Details
To reduce unnecessary loss of graphite electrode, please handle them carefully.
Transportation
u Rain-proof tarpaulin should be covered on the graphite electrodes during long distance transportation.
u Make sure use steel rope while lifting wooden-packaged electrodes. It is forbidden to hoist the steel belts on package.
u To protect the electrode end face and thread, it is not allowed to hoist directly the socket.
Storage
u The electrodes should be put in a clean and dry place. Remember always keep end caps to protect electrodes from getting dirty.
u Electrodes must be covered by tarpaulin if stored in open area.
u The temperature should be too high in storage places, that will probably melt the asphalt nipple bolt.
Connection
u Wet electrodes must be dried up before use
u Remove the protective foam cap to check the thread integrity
u The surface and thread of electrodes should be cleared by compressed air free of oil and water. Steel wire ball and metal sand cloth are not allowed.
u The nipple must be screwed carefully into the spare electrode socket without collision. Meanwhile connect the lift plug with the other end socket of electrode
u Put soft cushions under the electrode nipple to avoid any collision when lifting the electrode
u Lift the spare electrode above the working electrode and drop slowly towards the socket below. Stop when the distance between two end faces is close to 15cm, clean the thread and socket again with compressed air. Finally make nipple align with the center of socket and touch it gently.
u Use torque wrench to tighten two ends closely. If the connection is loose or overtight, it will cause breakage. Please refer to below torque for reference.
