ASTM B111 C70600 Copper Alloy Steel Heat Exchanger Tube For Coolers
ASTM B111 C70600 Copper Alloy Steel Heat Exchanger Tube For Coolers
C70600 is a copper-nickel alloy containing 90% copper and 10% nickel, often referred to as 90/10 copper-nickel. C70600 provides good mechanical strength and ductility, making it well-suited for pressure applications. It has good resistance to stress corrosion cracking (SCC) in seawater and other high-stress environments.
The alloy is highly formable, making it easy to fabricate into tubes and other complex shapes for heat exchanger designs. It is weldable and suitable for brazing, soldering, and welding processes commonly used in heat exchanger manufacturing. Copper-nickel alloys are known for their resistance to fouling from marine organisms, which helps maintain performance and efficiency in marine heat exchanger systems.

Applications:
- Heat Exchangers: Commonly used in power plants, desalination plants, and HVAC systems where heat exchange between fluids occurs.
- Marine: Due to its resistance to seawater corrosion, it is widely used in shipbuilding, offshore platforms, and other marine-related industries for components like condensers and coolers.
- Condensers and Evaporators: Used in refrigeration, air conditioning, and cooling systems.
- Chemical Processing: Employed in systems where resistance to aggressive chemicals and high temperatures is needed.
