Product Description

Stainless Steel ASME SA213s TP310S Seamless Tubes for Fired Heater

ASME SA213/ASTM A213 This specification covers seamless ferritic and austenitic steel boiler, superheater, and heat-exchanger tubes.

SS ASME SA213 TP310S is a premium austenitic alloy specifically selected for the most severe high-temperature sections of fired heaters. Its primary role is to resist oxidation (scaling) and carburization while maintaining strength at temperatures where standard stainless steels like 304H or 321H would fail.

Below are advantages of material TP310S:

1.Exceptional Oxidation Resistance: this is its standout feature, the high Chromium content (24-26%) forms a stable, self-healing chromium oxide (Cr₂O₃) layer on the surface. This layer protects the base metal from scaling at temperatures up to 1150°C (2100°F) in continuous service.
2.Excellent Resistance to Carburization: in heaters processing hydrocarbons, carbon from the process stream can diffuse into the tube metal at high temperatures. TP310's high nickel and chromium content creates a stable microstructure that is highly resistant to this carbon absorption, which can cause embrittlement and failure.

3.High-Temperature Strength: TP310 retains its mechanical strength and resists creep (slow deformation under stress and temperature) better than 304/304H or 316/316H. This prevents tube sagging, bulging, and premature rupture under design pressure and temperature.

4.Good Sulfidation Resistance: while not as resistant as some specialized alloys, it performs better than lower-chromium steels in environments with sulfur compounds from fuel or process streams.

Common Applications in Fired Heater

Radiant Section Tubes: The hottest section with direct flame radiation.

Bridgewall Piping: The area separating the radiant and convection sections.
Inlet & Outlet Header Piping: For sections exposed to the highest fluid temperatures.
Shock Coils: The first few rows of the convection section where flue gas temperatures are still very high.
