Product Introduction
Our L-Type Wrapped Fin Tubes (also known as L-Foot Tension Wound Finned Tubes) are cost-effective and reliable heat transfer components widely used in medium to low temperature applications. The aluminum fin strip is formed into an L-shape and helically wound under tension around the base tube, providing a strong mechanical bond and good thermal contact.
This design offers an excellent balance between performance and price, making it ideal for air-cooled heat exchangers and other industrial cooling systems where operating temperatures remain below 150°C.

Fin Tube Structure & Manufacturing Process
The L-Type Wrapped Fin Tube features a classic tension-wound structure:
- Base Tube: ASTM A179 seamless cold-drawn low-carbon steel tube with smooth outer surface.
- Fins: High-quality AL1060 aluminum strip, pre-formed into an "L" shape (L-foot).
- Winding Process: The L-shaped aluminum strip is spirally wound around the base tube under controlled tension. The L-foot covers part of the tube surface, creating firm mechanical contact and partial protection of the base tube from atmospheric corrosion. No welding or adhesives are used — the bond relies on precise tension and deformation.
This process ensures good fin-to-tube contact while remaining economical to produce.
