High hardness water based saturated polyester resin WL-183

1.Product Introduction 

  High hardness water based saturated polyester resin WL-183 requires neutralization with ‌N,N-dimethylethanolamine‌ (4-5% of the resin weight) prior to water dilution. It must be combined with a ‌waterborne amino resin‌ to formulate a baking coating, with a recommended amino resin addition of ‌15-50% by weight‌ relative to WL-183. The baking conditions (e.g., time, temperature) and final film properties (e.g., hardness, adhesion) will depend on the type of amino resin selected.

  When using ‌methyl etherified amino resin‌, adding a ‌waterborne acidic catalyst‌ (0.5-1% of WL-183 weight) is advised to accelerate curing. The pH of the coating system can be adjusted using ‌organic amines or ammonia‌, with higher pH levels increasing the dispersion’s viscosity.

  WL-183 exhibits excellent pigment-wetting capabilities, which may reduce or eliminate the need for additional wetting agents. This feature simplifies formulation while ensuring stable color dispersion in coatings.
