‌WL-0638‌ is a water-based alkyd resin designed for formulating ‌water-based self-drying metal anti-rust primers‌ and ‌primer-topcoat combined coatings‌. It can also be used to prepare ‌water-based amino baking paints‌, offering both protective and decorative properties for a wide range of metal products, including:Steel structures,Cranes,Construction machinerys,Agricultural equipments,Hardware tools,Steel cylinders,Pipes and valves.

WL-0638 resin is ideal for applications requiring durable corrosion resistance and aesthetic finishes in environmentally friendly, low-VOC coatings.

Properties

• Quickdrying, excellent gloss and fullness
• Excellent water resistance, salt spray resistance and certain weather resistance;
• Excellent shear stability, can directly participate in grinding color paste;
• It is stable under weak alkaline conditions, and will settle and separate water under acidic conditions. When adding acidic pigments, pay attention to adjusting the PH value of the system to 8-9;
• Theviscosity of the water dispersion increases with the increase of PH value, it is recommended to dilute with deionized water and adjust the PH value of the system to 8-9;

Instructions

First add 3-4% (by weight) dimethylethanolamine (DMEA) to WL-0638 for neutralizing, and then add water to dilute to produce self-drying or low-temperature baking anti-rust paint.

 Addingmetal drier can accelerate the oxidative drying. It is recommended that the drier be added into the alkyd resin and mixed evenly before diluting with water. The amount is 3-5% of the weight of WL-0638. It should be determined by test.

It is also advised to add methyletherified amino resin to make amino baking curing anti-corrosive paint, the recommended amount of amino resin to be added is 10-30% of the solid weight of WL-0638
