Basic Product Properties
Araldite® 420 A/B is a two-component epoxy adhesive system with high strength, toughness, and excellent moisture resistance. It bonds metals, composites, and thermoplastics, cures at room temperature, and can be post-cured at elevated temperatures for enhanced performance.
Product Description
Araldite® 420 A/B consists of a yellow resin (Part A) and a blue hardener (Part B), forming a dark green homogeneous mix after blending. Its viscosity is 35-45 Pa·s at 25°C, with a pot life of ~60 minutes (100g mix). The adhesive delivers high bond strength on substrates like aluminum, ceramics, and plastics, validated by ISO 4587 tests.

High Strength & Toughness: Tensile strength 29 MPa, elongation at break 4.6%, Shore D hardness 75 (DMA tested).
Environmental Resistance: Retains 5.5 MPa shear strength at 90°C; resistant to water, oils, and chemicals.
Process Adaptability: Suitable for manual or automated application; 0.05-0.10 mm adhesive layer recommended.
Curing Flexibility: Initial cure in 7.5 hours at 23°C; post-curing at 40°C for 16 hours enhances performance.
