Part 1: Basic Properties

Araldite® 2020 is a two-component, room-temperature-curing, low-viscosity transparent epoxy adhesive system specifically designed for glass bonding. It features a water-white appearance and a refractive index similar to glass, making it suitable for bonding various materials such as glass, ceramics, metals, rubbers, and rigid plastics.

Part 2: Product Description

Araldite® 2020 consists of a resin (2020/A) and a hardener (2020/B), which blend to form a homogeneous, transparent adhesive. Its low viscosity makes it ideal for precision bonding and clear casting applications. The product cures at room temperature, offering excellent bond strength and durability, along with resistance to environmental factors such as humidity, chemicals, and thermal aging.

Part 3: Special Properties

The unique feature of Araldite® 2020 is its optical clarity and refractive index (1.553) matching that of glass, making it ideal for optical devices and glass product bonding. Additionally, its mixed viscosity of approximately 150 mPa·s ensures easy application, while the cured mechanical properties are outstanding, including a flexural strength of 74.9 MPa and a flexural modulus of 2467.9 MPa.

Part 4: Applications

Araldite® 2020 is widely used in glass art, optical lenses, electronic encapsulation, jewelry setting, and transparent composite laminates. Its high clarity and weather resistance make it suitable for outdoor and high-end decorative applications.
