Basic Product Properties
Araldite® Araldite AV 5308/HV 5309-1 is a two-component epoxy paste adhesive with thixotropic and toughened properties, designed for room temperature curing. Its unique formulation allows gap filling up to 10mm without sagging, making it ideal for SMC (Sheet Molding Compound) and GRP (Glass Reinforced Plastic) bonding.
Product Description
Araldite® 2015 consists of a resin (AV 5308) and hardener (HV 5309-1), which blend into a homogeneous paste. The cured adhesive offers high shear and peel strength, with excellent performance on metals (e.g., aluminum) and plastics (e.g., SMC/GRP). Cure time varies with temperature—e.g., 4 hours at 23°C to reach 1N/mm² initial lap shear strength.
Special Properties
- Thixotropic: No sagging on vertical surfaces.
- Toughened: Resists dynamic loads and fatigue (>10⁷ cycles).
- Environmental Resistance: Withstands humidity, chemicals, and tropical weathering (per DIN 50015).
- Glass Transition Temperature: 67°C (cured at 40°C) or 87°C (cured at 80°C).
