Part 1: Basic Properties

Araldite® 2021 is a two-component toughened methacrylate adhesive system designed for rapid curing and high-strength bonding in versatile applications.

Part 2: Product Description

Araldite® 2021 is a room-temperature-curing, general-purpose adhesive for rapid assembly operations. The two-component (A/B) formulation mixes to a pale yellow viscous liquid, suitable for robotic or manual dispensing.

Pretreatment:​

The substrate should be degreased with isopropanol.

Mechanical abrasion or chemical etching enhances bond durability.

Part 3: Specialized Properties

Curing Performance:​

Typical Cured Properties:​

• Elongation at break: 50-75%
• Flexural strength: 36 MPa
• Hardness: Shore D78

Environmental Resistance:​

• Stable lap shear strength after tropical weathering (DIN 50015).
• Resistant to heat ageing at 100°C.

Part 4: Application Scenarios

Industrial Assembly:​

Used in automotive/aerospace for bonding plastic-metal composites, e.g., PC dashboards to aluminum frames.

Electronics:​

Bonds PVC housings to metal components in electronics, offering shock resistance and sealing.

Repair & Construction:​

Rapid repair of plastic pipes or metal structures, resistant to outdoor thermal cycling.
