MOLYKOTE D 3484 is a heat-hardening anti-friction coating produced by DuPont. It features a gray-black color and offers excellent lubrication combined with good corrosion protection, designed for demanding applications with moderate to high loads.

Product Introduction

This product is composed of solid lubricants dispersed in organic binders and solvents. It is suitable for application by spraying, dipping, centrifuging, or brushing onto thoroughly degreased and dried metal surfaces. For optimal performance, a uniform and thin coating is recommended. Curing can be achieved via air drying (12 hours at 20°C) or stoving (10 minutes at 170°C or 5 minutes at 200°C), and it can be thinned using MOLYKOTE L13 Thinner.

MOLYKOTE D 3484 is a sliding coating for metal/metal combinations with slow to moderately fast movements under moderate to high loads. It is suitable for permanent lubrication of friction pairs with high compressive stress and low speeds, especially where oil or grease cannot be used due to technical reasons or unacceptable risk of soiling. Documented successful applications include pawls of safety cutouts, carburetor springs, lorry coupling sleeves, toothed gears, parts of car safety belts, car-boot lock parts, as well as bolts and levers in tractors and construction machines.
